A new identity designed by Pentagram for iconic New York retailer Saks Fifth Avenue launches on January 2, 2007. After the jump, partner Michael Bierut describes the process behind the development of an identity with more variations than there are electrons in the known universe.

I was just trying to see what's new over at petunia petunia when this page (picture above) caught my eye. The power of Oprah, huh?
ZYB is an easy way to backup your mobile and then share and manage your data online. No wires, no software, no hassles. It's free and takes less than a minute to get started.
Still trying to get it to work with my Blackberry. Definitely like the idea of it though...
These completely collapsable kids toys by MoMoll are brilliant! (I just had to bounce up and down for a bit!) One would think they've been invented by a NYC parent, struggling with closet space, but no, it's by Nico Schweizer, living in Switzerland. One can surely see his half-norwegian design influence! I am sure G will get a kick out of the Play Kitchen, taken he's a kitchen designer.
Momoll perfectly reduced the designs to the absolutel basics! I love it!
(by the way mo-moll means 'yeah yeah' in swiss german)
(thank you philipp)

The Club of Pioneers is about a sustainable lifestyle. We rely on a kind of living that is responsible and aesthetic at the same time. In the fields of vehicles as much as energy technologies, design, architecture, food etc. you find new approaches to sustainability. The Club of Pioneers unites these voices on this platform and creates a model for a new kind of living.
The idea is insteresting, the site doesn't really make me want to linger though. hmm..
AIGA and Adobe see that the design profession is changing dramatically for good reasons: the marketplace is beginning to understand the value of design and is making demands of designers that go well beyond traditional roles. At the same time, leading designers have tools and perspective that allows them to adapt in increasingly valuable ways to the challenges of their clients.
Share your perspectives on the competencies, skills, knowledge, experience and competitive advantages that will be expected of the Designer in 2015. Here.
BrandspankingNew is sharing a 113 10x10 greyscale mini icon collection. WOW! Thank you!

Andy tagged me for Five things you probably don??™t know about me:
1. I have a thing for chickens, hence my favorite book is "The Fairest Fowl".
2. I came to New York in September of 1999 to find myself a 3month internship. Now, 7 years later, I run my own studio, am married to wonderful G, have a little baby girl and consider NYC my new home, for good. I am eternally grateful to Matthew Waldman for hiring me right off the plane. It's people like Matthew, that make a huge difference in a young designers life.
3. I met my husband in an elevator.
4. I was told I have an infectious laugh.
5. I keep a list of people I would love to have coffee with/meet one day. Here are five bloggers from this list and that I am passing this 'Five things you probably don??™t know about me' along:
I like (oh, I just saw she's already done it. Oy)
I found this really cool stainless steel (!!!) Business/Credit Card Case at uncommongoods.com. I had ordered one for fabulous G for christmas and I can attest: It feels and looks really cool! The packaging it came in was impressive as well. Definitely a great gift for the men in your life!
