Hip, eco-friendly Australian company Envirosax recently launched a new series of sustainable bags labeled the “Botanica Series.” The designs are full of bold, graphic imagery and patterns reflective of nature’s beauty. London design studio Kapitza just released a stunning book called Geometric. This resource book is full of 264 colored and black and white patterns including 100 pattern fonts on an accompanying CD that contains helpful tutorials that will enable you to generate your own original patterns.
Take note of the treatment of the cover - it folds out into aposter.

The soon to be Jenga in the sky, better known as 56 Leonard, has created an intriguing promo video showcasing the ambitious design by Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron’s.
Inspiring work by Heather Moore:
“Each one is cut from sections of the newspaper that reflect the mood of the cutout. So the first is from the Gardening and Home section, the one below is from Current Affairs/Business, and the last is from the Design and Lifestyle section. The idea is that the paper is so good, it practically comes to life!”
YKON is one of many organizations contributing to the Helsinki Biennale this year. They’ve designed this humorous world map comprised of a cluster of photographic imagery. The Biennale runs until the 25th of January of ‘09.
Philly’s own RecycleBank has developed a new an innovative system to promote recycling that’s starting to catch on throughout the U.S. All you have to do is sign-up, recycle on trash day and collect a check.

CityRacks Design Competition has officially announced the winners. Ian Mahaffy and Maarten De Greeve from Copenhagen, Denmark, got the nod for first-place. Both Harry Dobbs and Andrew Lang of London were the runners up while Ignacio Ciocchini of New York came in third.

Shepard Fairey just released his third collaborative project called “Duality of Humanity 4″ with photographer Al Rockoff today.
Top running shoe brand Newton Running has a few green features incorporated into the design of their shoes and the packaging that caught us by surprise.
German based designer, Marcus Schaefer has developed an experimental project called “Action Types”. Each letter is comprised of 3 different fonts that you can discover by changing the objects position.
