Project ABSOLUT ELEMENTS 2008 for students of Universities in Czech Republic, was on the end of the summer term already in second edition of its history. 10 students was chosen to the second round and they have received funds to build their concept for this competition. (more…)

Keeseh Studio invites students and design enthusiasts to celebrate the pursuit of ecodesign through an international competition to utilize waste material.
A given manufacturing facility creates many copies of a product; therefore they create many copies of their waste material as well. Waste material can be used as raw material for other products or processes; this concept is known as upcycling. (more…)

DESIGN with a SMILE exhibition

International Design Days of Baltic countries will take place in Gdynia 11-27 of July 2008 organised by the city of Gdynia and Polish Institute of Industrial Design. The aim is promoting good and modern Design in our environment. Exhibitions, presentations, workshops for children and designers will be held in three topics: Democratic Design, Digital Design and Design of Tomorrow. It’s an opportunity to take part in a car design workshop with Janusz Kaniewski 19-20 of June.

Drawerment is a composition of drawers collected from old office furniture. The installation enables viewers to find their own story in it. The composition has been designed for Demakersvan | dutch design house as a part of their renovated studio in Rotterdam. (more…)

Eighth International Design Contest Trieste Contemporanea
On the 12th and 13th June, in the CEI – Central European Initiative General Secretariat seat, after the greetings of the Ambassador Pietro Ercole Ago, the international jury of “GRAALGLASS International Design Contest Trieste Contemporanea”, composed by Gillo Dorfles (President of Jury), Aldo Colonnetti (IED Director), Barbara Fabro (CEI), Lia Ferrari (Io Donna-Corriere della Sera), Renzo Ferro (Anfora Furnace), Branko Franceschi (HDLU), Silvio Fuso (Director of the Ca’ Pesaro Museum of Venice and of the Glass Museum of Murano) and Puccio Migliaccio (Glass Historian), selected the winners of the Eighth edition choosing the best original projects for a drinking vessel, that will be realized in glass, inspired by the symbols and tradition of the Holy Grail.
