Old school with a good message.
Brazilian Ricardo Actus produces some interesting heavily-texturized collages utilizing his own typographical layouts.
Not entirely sure what this is for but as far as advertising goes, I was sold.
Zena Holloway was born in Bahrain and raised in London. At the age of 18 she traveled the world working as a SCUBA instructor where she developed a passion for underwater photography and film.
Strikingly beautiful images fill her portfolio.
Via Computerlove.
Really really nice print work in the portfolio of Barcelona-based Hey Studio. I would give my right arm to live and work as a designer in Barcelona.
Good stuff in the portfolio of designer/illustrator Mike Harrison. Very young and talented guy, keep an eye on him.
Some pretty awesome updates at the never-disappointing Sacred Mountain, including the lovable strangeness pictured above.
Pretty Cool People recently did an interview with designer/illustrator/artist extraordinaire Kustaa Saksi, whom I have long been a fan of. He does actually seem like a really cool person as well holding true to the ‘pretty cool people’ name.
There is a new experimental animation available for viewing inspiration from Abnormal Behavior Child. Without further ado, buy the ticket, eat the mushrooms, take the ride and watch Morituri Te Salutant: A Dystopian Tale from Niko Stumpo.
Craig Holden Feinberg first attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. From there he went on to study at Fabrica, The United Colors of Benetton Communications and Development Center in Treviso, Italy. He has since lectured around the globe and to my surprise moved to Denver. As you can imagine from his background, there is some pretty fantastic work in his portfolio.
Apparently there has been some updates at Experimental Jetset. Anything new from Jetset is worth taking note of.
I woke up this morning to find an email about this year’s Cut and Paste competition waiting for me. It sounds like it could be really exciting and something worth participating in to end up in NY surrounded by serious talent.
Here is the skinny from my inbox:
· This year, Cut&Paste is introducing the first-ever live 3D design and motion design contests
· The 2009 tour will begin in North America in March (Europe and Asia will follow)
· The Global Championships—which will feature a winner from each of the 16 participating cities—will take place in New York City in June 2009
· Grand Prize: One Grand Prize winner from each category in each city (48 in total) will receive an expenses-paid trip to New York City for the Global Championships. For a complete list of prizes, visit: www.cutandpaste.com/tours/program/formats/.
